The zither players of Mulhouse
The Mulhouse zither players' association was founded in 1984 to revive this instrument.
Since then, still as motivated as ever, the group of about fifteen people meets every week for rehearsals.
The zither players are accompanied by several soloists with guitars, accordion, theremin...
THE The repertoire offered is very vast, ranging from folk melodies, French songs, film music, classical music and compositions by Jean Hurter.
The zither players from Mulhouse use diagrams developed by Jean and the group's musical director, Jeannine Grosjean.
They regularly offer concerts in churches, nursing homes, and at other events, depending on demand.
Jean Hurter publishes diagrams of his compositions for zithers (all models). You can find a sample of these diagrams.
